AUTONOMY MOBILITY  STARTUP CHALLENGE 

Funding the Movement 

Now in its 5th year, the Autonomy Mobility Startup Challenge – formerly known as Funding the Movement - has recognised and celebrated startups that are bringing new innovations and enabling transformation in the mobility sector. It was open to startups less than 7 years old presenting projects, products, solutions, ideas, or prototypes focusing on any of 7 Industry Themes in our mobility ecosystem.

The challenge took place during
AUTONOMY MOBILITY WORLD EXPO 2023,
 
at Pavillon 6, Porte de Versailles
on March 22nd  2023

 How did it work?

21 startups have been pre-selected to pitch on the AMWE Stage on March 22nd (3 from each industry theme)

 
8 winners have received a prize with international recognition (1 from each industry theme, and 1 overall winner from the Public)

The Pitch competition took place at Autonomy Mobility World Expo on March 22nd from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.
The ceremony took place on March 22nd from 4:45 pm to 5:30pm.

Laurène BOUCHER

Chief of New Mobilities at Volkswagen Group France

After an extensive experience in the E-Mobility business across several industries : I have developed charging infrastructures for a well-known energy company in Germany, then support the development of eletric vehicles ecosystem at an OEM, I then deepdived into the IT infrastructure enabling the sharing of electric vehicles and launched several electric carsharing systems across the world (Italy, Germany, Singapore). I joined Volkswagen Group France to support them in developping new mobilities in France.

Nicola DALLATANA

Head of New Mobility at Toyota Tsusho - KINTO

Nicola joined Toyota group as Head of Toyota Tsusho Systems New E-Mobility Division in 2018. His team works with different companies of the Toyota family, including KINTO the mobility company of the group, on new mobility projects. Nicola served as juror and mentor on several open innovation including Toyota Europe Accelerator and Allianz Accelerator. Disruptive innovations and micromobility (he prefers to use ‘compact mobility’) in particular have been the focus of his career. Nicola joined Segway Inc., prior to the launch of its iconic product in August 2001. For Segway he served as Managing Director of the EMEA region, the most important region globally. Nicola also served as Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs until 2014. Before joining Toyota Tsusho, Nicola worked for Estrima.com, Italian manufacturer of the electric Birò and for very advanced power wheelchairs manufacturers: Whill.jp (Japan) and Gennymobility.com (Switzerland))...

StartUp & Technology Group Vice President at Valeo

Loan My Descourvieres is the Group Vice President of strategic partnerships & disruptive businesses at Valeo, a technology company, partner to all automakers & new actors in mobility, working together to innovate & create mobility that's cleaner, safer & smarter. Previously she opened the Valeo Mobility Tech Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also held positions in startup & technology incubation, product marketing, sales, business development, technology transfer, research & innovation, and program management. She worked at Thales in radio transmission, as well....

Romain ERNY

Head of mobility at Choose Paris Region

Romain Erny leads the Paris Region’s consulting practice for the urban mobility and transportation sectors. He has 15+ years of experience advising companies looking to expand and plug into the regional ecosystem. He specializes in growth strategy, go-to-market, public- private partnerships. Before joining Choose Paris Region, Romain worked for the economic development agency of Eastern France and the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation of Quebec, Canada. He holds a master’s degree in marketing from Grenoble IAE Graduate School of Management. Romain regularly participates in conferences about the future of transportation, innovation, entrepreneurship and French business practices.

Editor in chief at Decisions Durables

I am the Founder and Publisher of Décisions durables, a unique French magazine on sustainability and CSR targeting companies and local authorities. VP - Venture Studio Director at Sellantis

Elsa Lamartinie has been working in automotive industry for 25 years in diverse positions, as Project Director, Hardware and Software Director, dealership Director and intrapreneur in new car rental services. She is now head of the Stellantis Venture Studio whose mission is to accelerate innovation thanks to startups and intrapreneurship.

Audrey MEHATS

Director of Mobility transformation programs at VEHIPOSTE - GROUPE LA POSTE

VEHIPOSTE is a 100% subsidiary of Groupe La Poste which manages more than 63,000 vehicles in France, including 18,000 electric vehicles. We are the leading electric fleet in Europe and the leading company fleet in France. I am in charge of the entire project around new services and the transformation of mobility: modal shift, mobility credit, reflection on MAAS as well as the entire project on IRVEs and associated services. I participate alongside the Group's incubators in the selection and support of start-ups that work for mobility, AI, the energy mix. And my scope also manages all the compliance and internal control aspects of the subsidiary for the Group. I have a strong taste for innovation and change management, I like to take up new challenges and I have the chance today to be able to participate in this new paradigm that is the evolution of mobility and the reflection on the energy mix. I study the market to create links and form communities of interest that develop and deploy bricks of solutions around mobility (IRVE, MAAS, mobility credit).

Lukas NECKERMANN

Managing Director of Neckermann Strategic Advisors

Having coined the term “The Mobility Revolution” with his first book of the same name, Lukas has become a sought-after expert, advisor, and keynote speaker on future mobility and smart cities. He has been featured or cited in Fast Company, Wired, the Financial Times, as well as countless journals on shared, electric, and autonomous mobility. Lukas is Managing Director of Neckermann Strategic Advisors, and guides startups, corporates, and infrastructure providers in their transition toward shared, autonomous, and electric mobility. He recently co-founded (and now remains an Ambassador at) the Partners for Automated Vehicle Education Europe (PAVE Europe). Lukas also sits on the Advisory Board of numerous mobility startups in the US and Europe, is an Expert contributor to MSCI’s Future Mobility Index, an Instructor at New York University (NYU), and lectures on mobility, innovation, and strategy at the University of St. Gallen, TU Berlin, and the Hult School of Business.....

Clara SMITH

Group Head, Market Strategy at Hitachi Rail

Clara Smith is in charge of global market strategy at Hitachi Rail, a global provider of railway systems and digital solutions. Prior to this, she worked as a consultant to FMCG multinationals, as well as multilateral development banks, and academia. Clara is a member of the Younger Generations Leaders Network on Euro-Atlantic Security, part of the European Leadership Network. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford, and New York University.
