Member of the European Parliament
Karima DELLI has been a Green MEP since 2009. President of the Committee on Transport and Tourism of the European Parliament since January 2017. She has also been elected President of the For the Climate, For Employment group at the Hauts-de-France Regional Council since June 2021. She works towards an industrial policy that serves the ecological transition and social justice in order to meet the challenges of our century: protecting the climate, employment, public health and promoting accessible mobility. In particular, she created the European Startup Prize for mobility in 2017, the European Parliament's official grand prize for sustainable innovation, which rewards the best European startups in green mobility every year. A fervent defender of railways and soft mobility, she is gradually winning the battle for the return of night trains throughout Europe, the end of thermal cars in Europe and a European strategy to boost cycling throughout Europe. She embodies popular ecology. Her approach is simple: solve the environmental crisis and social injustices at the same time. To be at the service of all and in priority of the working classes, in this common fight, because without ecology, they have everything to lose.
